This was just a hack job of an article at GCN, it doesn’t look as if more than an hour was spent understanding wikis.
Wiki owners should not be so trusting. … Those who run Wikis tend to be very utopian in their views. They believe honest communities will evolve and that those communities will improve Wiki entries and fix bad data. But the trouble with a utopia is that it takes only one bad seed to screw things up.
These assertions are way off base. He only fears having site traffic as high as Wikipedia.
I’d imagine govenment wikis to be low traffic edit wiki. Maybe I am wrong, but who, what… government wikis….?!!??!?!?!
As in the Nature article, I wonder what the percentage of wrong information on current government websites is, I have friends that say it is common.
