I went to SakuraCon today with my daughter, who just turned 5, (March 24,) and we both had a blast. Very briefly: Sakura took a bunch of pictures of cosplayers. Most of these shots are just waist-down, since Sakura’s not very good at aiming the camera up, yet. Got to meet Piro & Gabe & Tycho. Bought Sakura a Lady Yuna doll, which she was begging for, in the venders room, and had a great time at looking at all the things. Ran into “Mecha,” Omar Remoquillo, who I haven’t seen since the Speakeasy Cafe (which we both haunted) burned down. Sakura wanted her picture taken with a bunch of cosplayers, and I took them. People were happy to oblige; I think my favorite was when she asked to have her picture taken with James, of Team Rocket. It was terribly cute. We drew pictures for about an hour in the creativity room (205? something like that,) which was really cool: Everyone in there is either drawing manga or characters, or writing fiction. It’s really creative, it’s really fun, there are drawing supplies everywhere, and people are talking and making friendships [..]
