We arrived in Monteverde. We travelled by taxi, boat, and another taxi. Once you’ve spent an hour or more on the dirt roads, you start to feel like you’re lost in the wilderness. All the more astonishing when you reemerge on paved roads, or when you see luxurious lodges and international cuisine restaurants “in the middle of nowhere” – the dirt road leads right up to them and it seems impossible to reach without a 4WD [..]
