findit.py: Python tagged data lookup
Source : Lion Kimbro's Blog
I’ve just published a small Python module, “findit.py.”If you’re into tagging, and are comfortable on a command line, you might dig this. Basically, I keep a text file open wherein I number ideas like so: 1. life map diagram diary journal threads retroactive: With the life map, you can go retroactive... 2. life map diagram journal evolutionaryspiritualitypractice: You see yourself in the larger... evolutionaryspiritualitypractice -> evolutionaryspirituality 3. blogentry soul speechrecognition video 2006-09-18: write quick story describing... (You can check out a real life example.) Then, when I want to look something up, (perhaps everything tagged “life,”) I run the program, and it finds the ideas for me. It also works with files and folders. So, now, when I create a file, I throw it into “C:\tagged\”, and give it a title something like: “2006-08-08_learning_constructivism.svg” That is then recognized as tagged “2006-08-08″, “learning”, and “constructivism.” So if I search for any of those tags, those names come up. That’s it!
