Finding the middle ground

Source :

WhartonI just read an interesting Wharton article which goes over the Wikipedia / Seigenthaler issue yet again, but I thought this one was worth sharing because its balanced and also asks an important question, which is “Will Wikipedia need to be tweaked?” Wales says that Wikipedia has always been in a state of change and he does not dismiss concerns about accuracy and vandalism, noting that now only registered users may make certain types of changes and also that Wikipedia is relatively new. He also compares it to the early days of eBay where very quirky items were for sale.
So I am very interested to see what other changes will take place over time and if there is a “middle ground” for public wiki’s which properly balances protection from vandalism with an open invitation to the world to edit.
