Drawing Hair

For some bizarre reason, I decided that, “No, I don’t want to program today,” instead, “I want to draw.” So I looked around, found some anime tutorials, picked one on hair, (pretty much arbitrarily,) and set about drawing! Basic Shapes and Components: Yah yah yah. Very exciting. Then, towards the end of the page: That loop was insanely hard to get, and I kept wiping the whole thing and starting over. My big insight on it was to draw while thinking about the shape of the lines of hair, rather than just rasterizing what I saw on the page. It still didn’t come out half as good as the original, but I’m happy for the insight. This all had taken me several hours. So, by that time, I wanted to draw something fun. And so, I did. :) The two in the top-left were straight from the next page of the hair tutorial. Then I did the girl in the top-right, who came from a tutorial on drawing heads. You’ll note, at the bottom, he says: “Next comes the hair. How to draw hair? Dunno o.O, but if someone requests it, I’ll make a tutorial for that one. Don’t expect anything great though, cause I’m no good at drawing hair.” [..]
