I Wikipedia!I’m reading up on Japanese sculptures in my biggest book – Ostasiatische Kunst by Gabriele Fahr-Becker. And when it mentions a certain sculptor named Jōchō and his Amida statue in the Byōdō-in without providing a picture, I can just Google for all these names and sure enough, the appropriate Wikipedia pages come up and there are in fact images of the very statue I’m looking available on the Jōchō page [..]
